Koh phanang, new year

1 januari 2020 - Koh Phangan, Thailand

Happy new

year everyone! Hope you have all enjoyed celebrating new year with friends and family!

Here in koh phanang we celebrated new year at Haad Rin during a full moon party! It was absolutely mental!! Phil had already gone for a night out here with a friend a few days earlier and he said it was nice! You walk on the beach and then there  are loads of bars around there! But honestly we couldn’t even see the beach on new year! It was soo busy, we got there just after 12 due to bad traffic! We had hoped that by the time we would get to the beach it wouldn’t be too busy as many people would’ve gone home already! But we were wrong! After walking around on the beach we had finally found a quieter spot to dance! And that was great, I probably looked like an idiot dancing in the sand but That didn’t matter, as everyone probably looked the same!

We had a great time, but at the same time I couldn’t help to think how dangerous it really was, so many drunken people or drugged up, walking into the sea, anything could’ve happened!

Besides the full moon party being crazy, the island itself is absolutely beautiful. We rented a scooter for 4 days for only 24€

we visited many beaches and view points to watch the sunset! At one point we ended up at a secret beach that looked like some kind of cult activities had been going on there! They had built statues and caves etc

Atleast we did have the entire beach to ourselves

We haven’t found a nice spot here on the island to snorkel where you can see good coral and fish, as it’s such a busy island most coral had died that is near the beaches! We would’ve had to get out on a boat to go to deeper water F1D1B27E-4BF2-46FC-BF09-6BB24AA1D9D744AFF14B-08B5-4341-9D67-13F10D83758E Paradise waterfall with a very refreshing natural pool
