Krabi ao nang, snorkeling phi phi

17 december 2019 - Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

Hi there!

After arriving in krabi and spending the first night in krabi Town, we moved to Ao Nang beach the following day!

Beautiful place, and Krabi does its name justice with all its crabs on the beaches!

Railay beach was high on our to do list so we took a longboat to the beach. the only way to get to this beach is by boat ( or kayak )

and the beach was great! Very nice scenery and loads of longboats with food and drinks to purchase. There is also a cave called Phra Nang cave where where people bring certain offers for fertility! It’s a real eye catcher!

We decided we wanted to do a tour that would take us to the emerald pool and the tiger temple 😩 little did we know how hard the climb up to the tiger temple was, all sweaty and exhausted, even nearly giving up continuing a few times we had finally made it to the top, and YES  the view was stunning! It was worth going up there but not something we would quickly do again! Even the way down was hard!

Anyway at least the view was worth it🙏

We spend most of our time at Ao Nang chilling by the beach, enjoying the night markets and the food! The food markets are a great way to try something different every night! I didn’t explore too much but Phil had a go at crocodile and crab claws, and lots of other Thai dishes!

Yesterday we moved to phi phi island! Staying in a little simple bungalow! Near the beach! We changed our cuisine to some Indian food🥘 and watched a fire show on the beach! It all looks very beautiful here!

Today we started our day at 6:10 for our snorkeling trip! We were advised to take an early tour so you’ll avoid the crowds and this is true! When we got to maya bay our tour boat was the only one there along with a private sail boat! The beach at maya bay is closed to try and preserve the coral but we were able to snorkel just a little further, where we saw two small black tip sharks that have recently returned to maya bay. And after a long search we saw a turtle 🐢 everyone was swimming like crazy to try and get some shots of the turtle. The rest of the itinerary of this tour took us to loh samah bay, pileh lagoon, shark point, Viking cave, nui bay, bamboo island and monkey beach ( the monkeys knew exactly what they were doing! They kept jumping on people bags and knew how to open them! Trying to get sunglasses and overall they were very naughty! )

Sorry for such a long story! And I will upload more pictures during this week!

Here are a few pictures from when we visited Railay beach!
